Dear Alcohol

Dear Alcohol,

First and foremost, let me tell you that I'm a huge fan of yours.

As my friend, you always seem to be there when needed.

The perfect post-work cocktail, a beer at the game, and you're even around at the holidays (hidden inside chocolates as you warm us when we're stuck in the midst of endless family gatherings).

However, lately I've been wondering about your intentions.

While I want to believe that you have my best interests at heart, I feel that your influence has led to some unwise consequences:

1. Phone Calls and text messages: While I agree with you that communication is important, I question the suggestion that any conversation after 2 a.m. can have much substance or necessity. Why would you make me call my ex's? Especially when I know, for a fact, they DO NOT want to hear from me during the day, let alone all hours of the night.

2. Eating: Now, you know I love a good meal. But, why do you suggest that I eat a taco with chili sauce along with a big Italian meatball and some stale chips (washed down with wine & topped off with a Kit Kat AFTER a few cheese curls & chili cheese fries)? I'm an eclectic eater but, I think you went too far this time.

3. Clumsiness: Unless you're subtly trying to tell me that I need to do more yoga to improve my balance, I see NO need to hammer this issue home by causing me to fall down. It's completely unnecessary, and the black & blue marks that appear on my body mysteriously the next day are beyond me. Similarly, it should never take me more than 45 seconds to get the front door key into the lock.

4. Furthermore: The hangovers have GOT to stop! This is getting ridiculous. I know a little penance for our previous evening's debauchery may be in order. But, the 3 p.m. hangover immobility is completely unacceptable. My entire day is shot.I ask that if the proper precautions are taken (water, vitamin B, bread products, aspirin) prior to going to sleep/passing out (face down on the kitchen floor with a bag of popcorn or whatever). The hangover should be minimal and in no way interfere with my daily activities.

Alcohol, I have enjoyed our friendship for some years now and would like to ensure that we remain on good terms.

You've been the invoker of great stories, the provocation for much laughter, and the needed companion when I just don't know what to do with the extra money in my pockets.

In order to continue this friendship, I ask that you carefully review my grievances above and address them immediately.

I will look for an answer no later than Friday 3 p.m. (pre happy hour) on your possible solutions. And hopefully we can continue this fruitful partnership.

Thank you,

Your Biggest Fan

Home bound

So we've just spent a week at the beach. I was so nervous before going but Cole was great. He did of course get a coughing cold but that's old news. We ate a couple good places had a couple heaping plates of crab (my favorite), had great days at the beach with beautiful weather. Went shopping at a J. Crew and I tore the place up. Got a beautiful winter white coat!!! The love bugs were nuts from time to time. I'm now in Mississippi so ready to be home, I'm about to jump out of my skin. I'm hoping to plug in my itouch and jam the whole way home.
When I get home I will be promptly decorating for Halloween (I can't wait) Cole's costume came in last week and it is to die for. To the family reading this, bet you want to know what it is!!! It's GOOOOOOODDDDD!!!! By the way what's up with the pumpkin patch at Hidden Valley this year. What am I suppose to do, we have been there every year since he was born. I'll figure something out.

PS we've decided to re-do the bottom portion of our house so ya'll wait for the great stories to go along with that. We've already started bickering about it.....so this should be FUN.

beach bound

So, the car is loaded down and we are heading out for the beach tomorrow. It is my first vacation other than my honeymoon without a family member. Crazy!!! I am excited and nervous all rolled into one. I alone have to entertain a two year old for an entire week. I am excited and I think Cole will love love love the beach as much as he loves the lake. However, he probably expects our boat, Papa's boat, Aunt Dawn's boat to all be there and won't understand why he so neglected.

I went to Runway for a Cause today and it was amazing. The turn out was great and they raised quite a bit of money. I'm glad I work for someone that thinks that's an important cause and I can't wait till next year when we've vowed to play a bigger role.

Oh, and I hope everything isn't nuts at work while I'm gone....I guess I'll see when I get back, or if the phone calls role in, while at the beach.

Wish me luck!!

Weekend Tornatic Activity

I am semi talking about the actual weather and semi talking about the general events of weekend.

Friday was a very long day that ended in margaritas....just the way I like it. However, at the end of that day also came the start of Ike for Arkansas. Saturday had a quaint brunch and came home to house a mess. Steven was dry walling, and that dry wall stuff was all over the carpet, every piece of furniture, and all over the fans. So portion of day was spent cleaning that up. Night came and Ike was ripping and roaring. Heard howls of wind all night keeping me up. Woke up that morning to our very large tree in front yard ripped out of the ground. We attempted to go shopping, and then family happened in town. Stopped by Dillards to get dress for Runway for the Cause and they were closed due to electrical failure.....WHAT!! Let me add here that the rest of the mall was open. But, of course there were no good stores. Came home to clean again. Went to Nana's for fun filled dinner with 4 of my parents, and that doesn't include all of them!!! Home to cut up tree.

Now this is the point when your good and jealous because you wish your weekend could have been as fun, but don't worry I'll take the sucky weekend, because we're heading to the beach on Friday....the count down is on.

Cole's bed was converted tonight to a toddler bed. Let me finish typing through my tears...

Fall

So, even though it was like 90 degrees today, I feel FALL. I ordered Cole's Halloween costume...yes that's right I ordered Cole's Halloween costume 50 something days in advance. I take my costumes very seriously. Last year I think I ordered it 60 something days in advance!!! I am not saying what it is, because it is a surprise, but let me go ahead and tell you it's GOOD. I'm also ready to decorate my house, but our vacation is next week, and I find something wrong with going on vacation to the beach and already having your house ready for Halloween. But, rest assured that when I get back it will be done.

With Fall also comes a new wardrobe. I receive the J.Crew catalogue like every 2 weeks or something, and it is haunting me. I like tons of stuff in it. Also, I just am not feeling what cold weather clothes I have in my closet and feel that the cost this cold weather season will be very large.

It all starts here...

Here it all starts. I've started this blog because my friend Amanda started one and it looked like so much fun! Thanks Amanda for allowing me to be your follower. Also, Steven needs something to occupy his mind as summer slows and fall comes on. Life in the Giompoletti house will be the main conversation piece with a splash of the stores/shopping/ and things I like. I'm a 28 y/o girl living in Arkansas, working for a plastic surgeon, mother to Cole also known as speed bump (a 2.5 y/o sweetheart), wife to Steven, daughter to many (also, all this will come out in later conversation), sister to Dawn, friend to many, and lover of the lake, my boat, my mothers lake house/hot tub, Halloween, Fall, and shopping.

Steven will do his own intro blog!!!

PS. I wakeboarded today and got up on 3rd try...Steven took approx. 8 times. I also think I would have done better if my board was pink with a matching lifevest!!!!!! I'm torn on this however because my boat is red and that wouldn't match.
